  • Spending more money and time on gambling
  • Finding it hard to manage or stop your gambling
  • Having arguments with family or friends about money
  • Losing interest in usual activities or hobbies like going out with friends or spending time with family
  • Always thinking or talking about gambling
  • Lying about your gambling or hiding it from other people
  • Chasing losses or gambling to get out of financial trouble
  • Gambling until all your money is gone
  • Neglecting work, school, family, personal needs or household responsibilities because of gambling
  • Feeling anxious, worried, guilty, depressed or irritable
  • Needing to gamble with larger amounts of money or a longer time to get the same feeling of  excitement

Each of our therapists is bound by the guidelines and ethics of their professional association. Our clients are assured of the strictest confidentiality.

The Service

The WGRC provides a low cost, comprehensive, community-based support service to those with a gambling problem or those affected by the gambling of someone they care about. This is provided by a team of professional WGRC counsellors and support workers.

Our approach is to build upon individual strengths and acknowledge the central role of the client in decision making. The active participation of families is built into each intervention plan ensuring that our work makes lasting differences in the life of each person we work with.

Making an Appointment

To make an appointment you can contact us directly by phone at 01-4198630. Alternatively, you can get a referral from your G.P. or a Mental Health Professional.

Your initial contact will be with a member of the reception team who will be happy to take your details and arrange a consultation with our Keyworker.
