Addiction affects the mental, spiritual and emotional aspect of the individual as well as the physical and social. Many types of complimentary medicines have proven to be highly beneficial to people in recovery, from all types of addictions.
These complimentary therapies can be used alongside conventional treatment approaches to improve the well-being of someone struggling with addiction. Holistic addiction treatment takes a look at the entire human being rather than treating only the symptom or behaviour.
At WGRC we provide complimentary therapies such as massage and auricular acupuncture (Ear acupuncture). Sonya Keogh our resident therapist is phenomenal. These therapies are not stand alone supports but are offered to participants as part of an overall continuum of care.
Appointments for complimentary therapies are available on Wednesdays.
At your initial keyworking appointment with Ann, she will discuss if a complimentary therapy would be a suitable match for your needs.
